This past weekend, we decided to try out one of the tourist sites of Cheonan. So we hopped into a taxi and took off for Gakwonsa Temple - home to a 15 m (45 foot) tall Buddha. Unfortunately for us, we got a taxi driver that got lost and then proceeded to charge us for the extra time, restulting in a fare that was more than double what it should have been. Oh, the times you wish you knew the language!
When we did finally get there though, the ride was worth it! Gorgeous painted temples bathed in golden afternoon light and a beautiful green monument to Buddha.
And of course, because Korea is so random, we couldn't just leave you with peaceful images of monks hitting old brass bells, could we? Behold what we saw on the way down the mountain back into town.
